Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Hello Everyone! I know i am so late this month with your update. And i have a very BORING letter as i cannot get the E-mail to work with the pictures in it anymore... Things are even busier than usual here if you can believe that! My very best friend from 6th grade, Lorna, has moved out to help me with the shelter! We have been really busy getting her little bunkhouse all fixed up for her and her 2 labs and 2 cats. She is all settled in now and loving it.So far she has been here a week and all the work has not sent her running away yet. ;) Friday we went to meet a transport who brought a beautiful little 10 year old lab to us. Lorna took her in as her 2nd lab, and she is just an absolute doll. "Brandee" was on the euthanasia list in a Denver shelter. Due to her age and of course being black nobody wanted her. Thursday we go pick up a tiny shi-tzu that is comming all the way from New Mexico. He is 8 and has a horrible underbite so of course he is not cute enough for anyone.... Then the end of November we go pick up a Bishon mamma and 6 tiny puppies. The father was a chihauhau so they will be tiny white furrballs HOPEing for new homes for Christmas! They were in MO on a euthanasia list...All of these new babies will have to be spayed and neutered, and have their shots. Help is definately needed as we are still trying to catch up from WAY to many unexpected vet bills last month.
The news just said we have had 17" more inches of snow so far this winter than usual. The space heaters are running full blast keeping everyone warm and cozy. We HOPE it will not be this bad for the whole winter! The electric bill is something we do not even want to talk about.....
Still waiting to hear if we got the 2 grants we applied for. And still looking for a building to hold our clinics in. We do think we found a place that will donate some of the equipment needed. HOPE we will have good news to tell you about next month on this mission!
The 20th of November we make a trip towards Denver. I am wanting to have a meeting place and see if any of you have donations we could pick up. We are needing the usual. Blankets, Towels, cat food, dog toys/chews, space heaters, LAUNDRY SOAP, papertowels, cleaning supplies, cat beds, paper towels (did i mention that?) dog sweaters, and bleach. If any of you have that day open and can meet us with anything send me an E-mail!
Alot of people call me when their pet dies. They know i understand their sadness and are searching for something to make them feel better. I saw an awsome video the other day and want to share it with you.
